Test Preparation Group ACT
The ACT measures the knowledge, understanding, and skills you have acquired throughout your years in school. Because of this, it is unlikely that a “cram” course can improve your scores. However, it is a good idea to do some test preparation to be familiar with the tests and what to expect on test day. The full ACT consists of four multiple-choice sections—in English, mathematics, reading, and science—with an optional writing section. Some colleges and universities require or accept ACT ® writing scores, so you may consider taking the writing section.
SmartLabz ACT Plan
For a 12 – week ACT ® program that meets 5 days per week, we suggest alternating Math, English, Reading and Science lessons for days 1-4 of the week and reserving all of the day 5s (or ½ of the day 5s if including the Essay lessons) for independent practice.
An excellent way for students to become familiar with not just the content of the ACT ®, but also the experience of taking the ACT ® is to take a full-length practice test. We incorporate four full-length practice tests (one each at the beginning, middle, and end of the program) so that students can not only become familiar with various aspects of the test, but also gauge their progress as they learn and practice. Not only will students get the experience of taking a full-length test, they will also get the benefit of even more personalized practice.
For every lesson, there will be suggested homework and practice.
Before meeting with the tutor, you will take an initial Practice ACT. This exam is run through our diagnostic software to provide a detailed report of your child’s performance in different content areas and question types. The tutor then uses these results to focus the program on your specific needs. As the program continues, you will take additional ACT practice tests to ensure progression as expected.
We have developed Curriculum Mapping technologies that use your ACT Practice Test data to create a Personalized Plan tailored to your current mastery levels.
We’ll work with you to find the right tutor match: someone who can explain difficult concepts and motivate your child.
These are essential to earning a stronger score, so we provide a minimum of four full-length Practice ACTs.
Designed to suit your mastery level. An increasingly difficult material to ensure that you are appropriately challenged throughout the program.
