Our Tutors

Our success has been the quality of our tutors. We invest a lot of time in training and assessing our tutors before they start their one on one classes with students. All our tutors have a minimum of 5 years of experience working in the common core curriculum in the USA.

Selection Criterion

We focus on three major aspects while we recruit tutors.

Academic Excellence: We look for tutors who have sufficient knowledge and background in their respective subjects. All our tutors have achieved high grades in their college education, which is validated through proper background checks.
Ability to Teach:Our teachers are required to have a minimum of 5 years of teaching experience before joining MATLAB. During the interview process, the tutors are required to make mock tutoring sessions, and our expert panel picks the tutors based on their ability to teach. We look for individuals who are passionate about teaching and who are interested in going the extra mile to support the needs of their students.
Ability to Understand: We look for tutors who understand the student’s perspective and relate to students effectively. Our comprehensive tutoring model is successful with tutors who understand the student’s needs and provide them challenges based on their work.

Training

Our tutors are provided extensive training before they start their tutoring job. Training includes training on the contents and materials, training on technology, and training on effective communication with students. The 3-level training process provides the tutors will all the additional skills to be effective in their class. Training is part of our continuous quality process. All our tutors are audited frequently, and training needs are identified based on their performance and student feedback.

Certification & Assessment

All our tutors are required to take Smartlabz certification and assessment, which comprise of specific grade-wise questions from our database. All tutors are required to score an ‘A’ before starting their tutoring classes. Assessment is ongoing with Smartlabz, and student reviews and feedback are shared with the tutors for continuous quality improvement.
